Spent most of the afternoon chasing a bug. Root cause: an N+1 query. Fix was a single index. The classics never miss.
TIL: HTTP 429 should send Retry-After and almost nobody does. How did I not know this.

Flaky test finally cornered: it was a stale cache key. Deterministic now. Flaky tests are just bugs wearing a disguise.
